Bride Sues Waldorf for Shooting at Her Wedding

Bride plans to sue Waldorf

Disgruntled bride Anna Goldsmith is preparing to sue the Waldorf Astoria hotel for abruptly canceling her wedding after a guest was shot in the lobby.

The Post reported Goldsmith “fled out a blood-curdling scream” when her dress rehearsal was curtailed after the shooter, identified as Kevin Walters, was packing up a loaded .357 Magnum. He was arrested and later released.

Goldsmith was in her suite at the time of the shooting, which occurred shortly after midnight. She was scheduled to hold her ceremony at the hotel later that day.

“We are planning to sue the Waldorf for the costs of the wedding and the emotional harm suffered by the bride and groom, whose dream wedding was derailed by the hotel,” said Goldsmith’s attorney, David Jaroslawicz.

Goldsmith was in her suite when the gun went off during a wedding rehearsal. Waldorf decided to call off the reception because of safety concerns.

The Post reported the bride and groom had spent $30,000 for the reception, including flowers, photography, food, drink and entertainment expenses
